Marblehead Pottery Decorated Vase Arts & Crafts 6" 1910

Description

This is a fine decorated  Marblehead vase from about 1910.
It is 6 3/16" tall, 5 1/8" wide, the mouth is 3 3/8" across the lip.
It is marked on the bottom with M P on either side of a sailing ship
and H T for Hennessey and Tutt.
It is in very good condition, with a 1.5 mm wide glaze chip on the outside of the lip, shown in the 7th photo.
The rest of the vase is perfect.
The background glaze is a mottled Mustard Sandstone with light chocolate Tree trunks flowing up to leaves,
with light blue fruit hanging down on either side of a chocolate center pendant.
It is well decorated by Hannah Tutt with Tree forms, leaves and fruit, that repeats 8 times around the vase,
a wonderful design, in the Mission style, with a finely mottled glaze over the whole surface.
The designer was Arthur Hennesy.
