CHINESE VINTAGE JINGDEZHEN PORCELAIN 3-PIECE TEA SET BUTTERFLIES & FLOWERS

Description

This lovely Jingdezhen porcelain tea set includes a tea pot, lidded sugar bowl, and creamer. It was purchased in the 1970s, in Hong Kong. Featured is a colorful pattern of butterflies, blossoms and twining vines on the white porcelain. The teapot measures about 4” in diameter at the base, about 6½” in height to lid top, and about 9½” from handle to end of spout. The sugar bowl measures about 3½” in diameter at the base, about 5” high to lid top, and about 8” across, from handle to handle. The creamer measures about 3½” in diameter at the base, about 3” in height, and about 6½” from handle to spout. All pieces are marked with red Chinese characters and “Made in China.” Apparently from in or near Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, Southern China. The teapot and sugar bowl are in excellent condition, with no chips, nicks, cracks, damage or repairs; the creamer has one small nick on side of spout. No indication that the set was ever used. Comes from a private collection. Tea anyone!
