Welcome to the Simmons Trixer....
You can now have that classic 80's Simmons drum sound available right from your own kit without having to purchase a bunch of electronic pads. Simply connect your drum mics or trigger pickups into the Trixer's inputs, fire it up, and it begins to automatically analyze and "learn" your acoustic drum levels and dynamics while you play... adjusting itself in order to trigger the on-board sound samples optimally. (By the way, those punchy 12-bit onboard sound samples are derived from the legendary Simmons SDX sound library!! Four different drum sets worth!! ) A six channel mixer then lets you blend those SDX sounds with the sounds of your acoustic drums... and the built-in digital reverb will provide you with a drum sound bigger and badder than anything you thought was possible from an acoustic kit !
And, if that isn't enough, the MIDI IN, MIDI OUT and MIDI THRU ports open up a world of sonic possibilities that would not otherwise be available from an acoustic kit. The Trixer's "Trigger to MIDI Interface" provides a drummer with the means to trigger ANY connected or chained MIDI instrument on ANY of the 16 MIDI Channels !! And, coming back the other way, the MIDI IN port listens for and acts upon Program changes, select Controller changes and all that other fun stuff. Combine the on-board Simmons sounds with acoustic drums and MIDI'd instruments and you have a virtual engine room at your disposal!! Your keyboard player will be jealous in no time (and likely fear getting punted from the band..)
